In Cyprus, players refer to it as Pilotta (Πιλόττα), and in Quebec, it was shortened to the first syllable and spelled bœuf. Croatian players enjoy a similar game with different rules called Bela. In Saudi Arabia, the game is known as Baloot. Throughout Bulgaria, it is commonly referred to as Belot (Белот). Moving on to the Republic of Macedonia, the game is named Belyot (Бељот) and is particularly popular in the Bitola region. Armenia also enjoys Belot under the name Bazaar Belote, played with slight variations. Interestingly, in Saudi Arabia, it takes the top spot as the number one card game, albeit featuring different rules compared to European versions.
